After the United States of America where he participated in Washington at the Critical Minerals Forum and met with miners and American officials as part of the DRC-USA Strategic Partnership, the tireless Minister of Mines Louis Watum is in South Africa for Indaba 2026.
At the ministerial symposium of Investing in African Mining Indaba 2026, the Democratic Republic of the Congo delivered a clear message: stability, strategic partnerships and sustainable valorisation of resources are at the heart of its vision for the African mining sector.
Louis Watum Kabamba, Minister of Mines of the DRC, took part on Sunday 8 February 2026 in the ministerial plenary of Investing in African Mining Indaba, themed “Betting on Africa: mobilising capital through partnership”.
This high-level meeting brought together ministers, industry captains and international partners around the key issues of mining investment on the continent.
Speaking alongside his counterparts, the Minister of Mines presented the DRC as a reliable and strategic partner for mining investment, committed to international cooperation based on concrete, transparent and mutually beneficial projects, notably with the United States and other major partners.
