Paris (Le Figaro) – The government has found a buyer for the ArcelorMittal site in Florange (Moselle), which is ready to invest nearly 400 million euros if the steelmaker agrees to sell it, said the Minister for Industrial Renewal, Arnaud Montebourg, today .
He reiterated during the question period in the National Assembly that the French authorities were now expecting proposals from ArcelorMittal, by this Friday at the latest, and that the possibility of a temporary nationalization of the site remained open.
“We are ready because we have a buyer who is a steelmaker, an industrialist, who is not a financier, who, moreover, wants to invest his personal money, and, if you please, is willing to invest up to nearly 400 million euros in this facility to renovate it,” said Arnaud Montebourg.
